I finished a day early so we celebrated at Venice Beach with a beer.
I. MADE. IT. TO. MEXICO. 29 DAYS. 9 HOURS. 9 MINUTES.
My parents and Kelsey met up with me, finally! The end is in site!
If you've ridden 116 miles, I would suggest stopping in San Luis Obispo for Taco Tuesday. This all cost me $6.
I found a pump track!
A few hours later....
Besides riding through a forest fire on the 395, I had a short easy ride into Lee Vining. Met up with the US Forest Service Fire Fighters pictured below and discussed continuing on the Sierra Cascade Route. I spent the day coming up with a new plan to move toward the coast as fires stood in my path around the Lake Isabella and Tecate areas. Tomorrow I will ride through Yosemite and make my way north toward San Francisco thanks to a little help from our good friend Amtrack.
